Does a history of Highlights, Heat Styling, brunette-to-blonde (and back again) stand a chance against the new Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond range, designed for deeply damaged hair? Here’s my honest review.
How does Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond work?
Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond approaches Haircare with the ethos of skincare. Consistent use will reap amaxing rewards. With a focus on reaffirming the hydrogen bond matrix in the hair – which basically means rebuilding the hair from the inside, out - whilst keeping the surface shiny and soft, I immediately introduced the four Instacure Build-A-Bond products - Shampoo, Conditioner, Liquid Mask and Leave-In Balm - to my very own bathroom following the range’s recent launch.
Containing Citric Acid, which strengthens the hair follicle structure, and Squalene to soften and smooth the surface of the outer hair, each product works to synergistically strengthen and smooth hair in its entirety, treating damage at the deepest level.
I really strive for the glossy, glass-hair look and learnt that the super duo of Revival Liquid Mask and Sealing Leave-In Balm could help me achieve that, so I am super excited about this new Matrix routine setting my hair up for healthy bounce when I curl or a glasslike structure when I straighten.
Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Mighty Bonds Shampoo
Although I only Shampoo and Condition my hair twice a week on average – depending on whether I have an event or not - switching to Matrix Mighty Bonds Shampoo proved an instant game-changer.
Mighty Bonds Shampoo provides 8 x stronger and 94% smoother hair versus non-conditioning Shampoo, and the super luxurious texture works into a rich lather that feels like it is nourishing my hair – not stripping it. When rinsing it out, my hair felt less ‘chalky’ than other Shampoo I’d tried. The sulphate, paraben and mineral oil free formulations just felt gentler, giving me the confidence that I didn’t need to add more chemicals to my Haircare routine for it to really get to work.
Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Mighty Bonds Conditioner
My hair needs a lot of hydration, but some Hydrating Conditioners accentuate the signs of damage at the roots and around my face, including fluffy fly-aways and wispy, broken hair. The ends of my hair also knot easily after I exercise which is another sign I need heaps of hydration.
The Mighty Bonds Conditioner - a professional-level product designed for mega damaged hair like mine – helps to revive hydration, reinforcing the hair fibre with Citric Acid and smoothing and softening uneven, dull texture with Squalene. The fly aways at the roots have already started to settle down and the ends of my hair seem smoother and sealed, preventing any tangling at all.
Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Mighty Bonds Instant Revival Liquid Mask
At the product launch, we were educated on how this product totally rejuvenates hair health - and I haven’t been disappointed. The Citric Acid deeply nourished my hair, bringing my natural, smooth texture back, and in tandem with Mighty Bonds Shampoo and Conditioner, my hair already feels softer to the touch.
Because Heat Styling my hair after washing it is non-negotiable – whether it be a Blow Dry, Straighten or Curl - I know I must put in the hard work prior to this, so I add Instant Revival to wet hair after Shampooing for some extra reinforcement, leaving it for a few moments and rinsing.
Matrix Instacure Build-A-Bond Mighty Bonds Super Sealing Leave-In Balm
One billion bonds in every bottle to fight damage? Bring it! First up, my hair adores a Balm consistency, so I was super excited to try this Leave-In Product that promised to reveal 8 x stronger and 94% smoother hair. Protecting hair from heat of up to 230°C and controlling frizz for up to three days, the Balm is so easy to use so I’ve been evenly applying it to clean hair on off-duty days, concentrating on mid-lengths and ends.
Hair damage? I’m happy to say it didn’t stand a chance thanks to Matrix Build-A-Bond Range. Shop it today at HAIRHOUSE.
